Caroline Co. garage, home destroyed in early morning fire

HILLSBORO, Md. – A fire that destroyed a garage and home in Caroline County early Thursday morning is under investigation.

At approximately 2 a.m., firefighters responded to 22057 Main Street to battle the reported blaze. It was discovered that the fire began in a detached garage and spread to the single-family home.

It took nearly three hours for firefighters to extinguish the two-alarm fire. Total damage has been estimated at $500,000.
