Weather Tidbits: How Clouds Form
This Weather Tidbits explains how clouds form. The formation of a cloud begins when the heat of the sun beat down into the water. This starts the process of evaporation; where liquid water vaporizes and turns into a gas. Condensation begins to occur next when the water condenses on cloud condensation nuclei; which can be dust, pollen, smoke or sea salt. The process of condensation is when the warm air cools and the water vapor turns into a liquid. This leads to coalesce; where the tiny droplets collide and form larger droplets. Lastly, when the big droplets become too heavy then they fall; as rain or below freezing as snow, which is known as precipitation.
