Weather Tidbits: Debris Removal Categories

This Weather Tidbits dives into how to divide debris into categories for a house clean-up or after a storm. Always avoid placing debris near poles, trees, hydrants and meters. Try to put your items in specific categories; such as electronics which include television, computer, stereo, phone & DVD player. Large appliances consist of a refrigerator, washer/dryer, air conditioner, dishwasher; while hazardous waste includes oil, batteries, paint, cleaning supplies & compressed gas. Vegetative debris consist of tree branches, leaves, logs and plants; while construction debris are building materials, drywall, lumber and carpet. Lastly, household garbage is bagged garbage and discarded food. Also, don’t place your debris on the sidewalk because it will not get picked up; and debris should not block the roadway.
