Ground broken on Pine Street Community Market in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – In Cambridge, ground was broken Wednesday on a market that will soon support residents of one undeserved community.

The Pine Street Community Market will offer a variety of fresh food items and other goods.

We’re told it will be convenient for those who lack transportation to local grocery stores.

Now there was quite the crowd at Wednesday’s groundbreaking ceremony, which Owner Eddie Beasley says is proof that the store is what the community needs. “They’re approaching me already. Kids I don’t even know just can’t wait for this store to get open so they can participate in it. It’s right here where they live. That’s why I picked this spot because I knew it would be ideal spot to have a store for this community,” Beasley said.

We’re told construction on the market is expected to be completed by the end of the summer, with an opening date to follow.
