Drug investigation leads to multiple charges for Salisbury man
SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man has been arrested on CDS distribution charges following a two-month-long investigation.
The investigation began in November after the Salisbury Police Department noticed an uptick in suspected drug sales and other criminal activity taking place at 825 W. Isabella Street. The Crime Reduction Unit began an investigation and quickly identified several individuals, including Lavoya Neal, that were involved in criminal activity including the sale and distribution of narcotics.
Law enforcement officials developed probable cause for search and seizure warrants for Neal’s residence in the 700 block of Dennis Street, as well as Neal’s personal vehicle and his person. As a result, law enforcement located and recovered quantities of suspected CDS that included 426 grams of marijuana, distribution paraphernalia, and a loaded semi-automatic handgun. Neal was located at the W. Isabella Street address at the time of the search and seizure warrants and was taken into custody.
Neal has been charged with possession of cannabis over a civil amount, CDS: possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm in a drug trafficking crime, and possession with intent to distribute within a school zone.
