Dover man arrested on drug & firearm offenses following traffic stop
CAMDEN, Del. – A Dover man is behind bars following a traffic stop Wednesday evening.
At around 6:20 p.m., a trooper on patrol stopped a vehicle on East Street, south of East Camden-Wyoming Avenue, after recognizing the driver and discovering he had a suspended license. The trooper asked the driver, identified as 48-year-old Kevin Walker, to step out of the vehicle, and a K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics. A probable cause search of the car was subsequently conducted, leading to the recovery of the following:
- Approximately 42.90 grams of crack cocaine
- Approximately 81.60 grams of methamphetamine
- Approximately 655 baggies containing approximately 4.585 grams of suspected heroin
- Approximately 41.08 grams of marijuana
- Approximately 12 suboxone strips
- Approximately 35 prescription pills of various types
- A concealed and loaded 9mm handgun
- Drug paraphernalia
Walker was charged with various drug and firearm related offenses and held at SCI on a $243,500 cash bond.
