HARRINGTON, Del. – Police say a convenience store burglary led to numerous charges for a Kent County man early Friday morning.

At around 1:40 a.m., troopers responded to the Summit Mart, located at 4478 Milford Harrington Highway, after receiving multiple alarm activation reports at the closed business. When troopers arrived at the scene, they found a side window to the store had been broken, and gave announcements for the suspect to leave the business. The suspect, later identified as 18-year-old Joshua Sample, was subsequently taken into custody. Sample reportedly provided a false name to troopers initially and was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and stolen store merchandise.

Further investigation revealed that Sample and a second unknown suspect had burglarized the Summit Mart on January 13th and 25th as well.

Sample was charged with three counts of third degree burglary, theft, second degree conspiracy, and several other related charges. He was later released on a $4,550 unsecured bond.
