BHM: Gifty Boateng

Bayhealth’s Gifty Boateng is a certified Post-Anesthesia Nurse, dedicated to helping bridge the healthcare disparities among her community by ensuring that everyone has access to healthcare resources, health education, and access to free, healthy food.

She does so by organizing community health fairs at various community centers. Even with all the great work she dose, she’s still well aware of the need to continue to strive for more while advocating for underserved communities.

As an immigrant coming from Ghana, West Africa I need to make sure my community is heard and the resources they need to receive the optimal health is given to them. In regards to the process of African Americans in healthcare, I know we are striving but we can do more. African Americans needs a lot of allocation of resources, providers to provide the excellent care they need especially in the undeserved communities,” said Boateng.
