Several arrested in Somerset Co. drug investigation

SOMERSET CO., Md. – Numerous suspects have been arrested following a drug distribution investigation in Somerset County.

We’re told the Somerset County Narcotics Task Force was assisted by numerous local agencies in conducting a Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network Initiative targeting organized controlled dangerous substance distribution taking place in Somerset County. Officials identified several open-air drug markets frequented by specific distributors on nearly a daily basis. Members of SCNTF utilized concerned citizen complaints, intelligence provided by local law enforcement, confidential informant information, and surveillance to confirm the individuals and CDS activity.

Officials identified the specific areas and law enforcement assigned to these areas were able to arrest seven individuals for drug-related crimes and three for outstanding warrants. Two of the ten arrested suspects were charged and held on felony drug and/or firearm charges. Members of SCNTF previously identified both suspects distributing drugs on a daily basis in recent weeks leading up to the initiative.

Dale White was charged with CDS distribution narcotic, CDS possession with the intent to distribute narcotics, CDS possession narcotic, CDS possession paraphernalia, disorderly conduct, failure to obey a lawful order, and resist/interfere with arrest.

Shaleel Harris was charged with firearm use felony/violent crime, CDS distribute etc. with firearm, firearm drug trafficking crime, possessing regulated firearm being under 21, wearing, carry, and transport handgun on person, and other related handgun and drug charges.
