Mexican national living in Delaware sentenced to federal prison for distribution of meth, firearm possession
DELAWARE – A Mexican national living in Lincoln who is allegedly in the United States unlawfully has been sentenced for possession of a firearm and distribution of methamphetamine.
31-year-old Porfirio Jiminez-Arizmendi was sentenced on Tuesday to eight years in prison for being an unlawful alien in possession of a firearm and distribution of methamphetamine. Jiminez-Arizmendi pled guilty on July 25, 2022, and will face removal proceedings upon completion of his federal prison sentence.
According to court documents, on February 18, 2021, Jiminez-Arizmendi sold roughly 9 ounces of crystal methamphetamine, with an approximately 97% purity, for $9,000. During his arrest for that crime, officers recovered a semiautomatic pistol and seven rounds of ammunition in the pocket of a jacket found on the front passenger seat of the vehicle he was driving.
