‘It’s a labor of love:’ Squeaky’s Cafe to expand with second location
PRINCESS ANNE – Growth is on the horizon for local favorite Squeaky’s Cafe.
They’re taking over the restaurant portion of the historic Washington Inn & Tavern building, located across the street from their current location.
Chef Edward Wilks says the expansion wouldn’t have been possible without the strong support of regulars, visitors, and the community.
He tells 47ABC the new space will allow the business to grow into its next phase. “Now we’ll be offering a brunch menu, a full-scale dinner, and more seating opportunities. That gives us opportunities to expand our nature,” Wilks said.
“The bottom line is hard work and it’s a labor of love. It’s a labor of love. That’s one of our missions is to have love built in what we do.”
Wilks also tells us right now they’re creating the new menu, hiring staff, applying for their liquor license, and more. He says they hope to be ready to open the second location by mid-February.
Squeaky’s original location will remain open Monday-Thursday for breakfast and lunch.
