Fruitland house fire ruled arson, 13-year-old charged

FRUITLAND, Md. – A juvenile has been linked to a house fire late last week in Fruitland.

The fire was reported at around 1:40 p.m. Friday, at 229 N. Dulany Avenue. The fire was reported by a neighbor and was contained in 10 minutes.

Further investigation by Maryland State Fire Marshals revealed that the fire began on the front porch and was intentionally set. As a result, a 13-year-old has been referred to Juvenile Services.
