Arrest made in March 2022 Salisbury shooting

SALISBURY, Md. – Police have made an arrest in connection to a shooting that took place in March of 2022.

On March 11, 2022, deputies met with a 40-year-old male victim of a gunshot wound at TidalHealth. Further investigation revealed that the shooting took place in the roadway near 1200 Flamingo Drive.

An extensive investigation led police to identify 20-year-old Rusaan Holland as a suspect. On December 30th, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant for unrelated crimes, at which time they arrested Holland for firearm and controlled dangerous substance related charges. While in custody for this arrest, Holland reportedly admitted to shooting the victim on March 11th.

An application for charges was filed and an arrest warrant was obtained for Hollard for first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm by a minor, and loaded handgun on person. The warrant was served on Holland on January 5th, who was being held at the Wicomico County Detention Center for the previous arrest. He is being held without bond.

Police also say the victim in this case sustained life altering injuries.
