2nd annual Ice & Oyster Festival returning

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – We are just one day away from the return of Cambridge’s 2nd annual Ice & Oyster Festival, an event focused on celebrating winter, wildlife, and all things Eastern Shore
Friday and Saturday, January 13th and 14th, festival attendees can see dozens of shaved ice sculptures that highlight the Eastern Shore, which is all made possible by Ice Lab in collaboration with the Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce.
Beyond ice, we’re told there will be oysters, vendors, fire pits, live demonstrations, live performances, and much more. This also gives downtown businesses and restaurants an opportunity to showcase themselves as well.
Even with the intense storms last year, the planning committee found much success with the festival for its first, so they’re back with the same goal, but double the fun. “We’ve involved so many great sponsors from the Hyatt to a lot of downtown vendors and we’re bringing a lot of the staples that were popular back. Like duck blind, a lot of the interactive games are going to be on sight but there are also going to be some really fun new additions as well,” says Natalie Ruark, planning committee member. She adds, “It’s really just a good time to come down and check out everything local that Cambridge has to offer.”
The festival kicks off Friday, January 13th from 4 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 12 to 8 p.m. Information regarding the festival, parking, activities available, and more can be found on the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce website, or the festival’s Facebook page.
