Police: Occupied vehicle hit by gunfire in Smyrna

SMYRNA, Del. – Smyrna Police are investigating a shooting that damaged an occupied vehicle Sunday afternoon.

At around 4 p.m., officers began investigating after receiving a report that a vehicle occupied by an 18-year-old, two 17-year-olds, and a 15-year-old was hit by gunfire as it was being driven in the area of W. North Street and Lincoln Street.

The occupants of the vehicle told police that they were being followed by a dark-colored sedan just before the shooting. It was learned that 2 to 3 shots were fired, and the occupied vehicle was hit at least once. None of the occupants were injured.
