Police, DOJ asking for public’s help in child pornography case involving Sussex Co. pastor
SUSSEX CO., Del. – The Delaware Department of Justice is asking for the public’s help after a Sussex County pastor was charged with soliciting child pornography.
62-year-old Leonard Eley was formally indicted on November 28th with one count of sexual solicitation of a minor, two counts of possession of child pornography, and one count of theft by false pretenses. These charges stem from an investigation into accusations that he solicited nude photos from a minor over the course of a year.
It is further alleged that Eley paid for the photographs using stolen funds from his church’s account, Storm Shelter Ministries.
At the time of Eley’s indictment, the State was aware of one victim, however, we’re told that prosecutors have reason to believe there may be additional unidentified victims.
Officials ask anyone with information on this case to contact Detective Chris Whitehouse of the Milton Police Department at 302-684-8547, extension 103.
