House fire in Eden deemed accidental
EDEN, Md. – A house fire that broke out Christmas evening in Eden has been ruled accidental.
We’re told the fire was reported just after 6 p.m. at 4061 Skylar Drive. Firefighters quickly responded to the scene and were able to control the blaze in approximately 20 minutes.
Maryland State Fire Marshals responded to investigate the cause of the fire, determining that it was accidental in nature and caused by the failure of an electrical receptacle.
Total damage has been estimated at $41,000. Unfortunately, two dogs and three cats perished in the fire. The occupants are being assisted by family and friends.
