UPDATE: Former OCPD officer arrested for possessing child pornography
OCEAN CITY, Md. – Maryland State Police say two men were arrested Monday morning on child pornography charges, including a former Ocean City Police Officer.
60-year-old Charles Zukas has been charged with 20 counts of possession of child pornography. A second individual, identified as 25-year-old Jodie Orr, has been charged with 33 counts of possession of child pornography.
We’re told both suspects surrendered themselves to the Maryland State Police Berlin Barrack Monday morning, where they are being held pending an initial appearance in front of a District Court Commissioner.
The investigation reportedly began in March of this year, and on March 16th, troopers served a search warrant at the identified residence of the suspects. A preliminary forensic review of the suspects’ electronic devices revealed multiple child pornography files.
According to the Ocean City Police Department, Zukas was employed by the OCPD as a police officer from September 1994 until his retirement in June 2014. Zukas then went on to be a Reserve Police Officer with the Ocean City Police Department until March 2022.
