11-Year-Old Hero Honored for His Bravery
SALISBURY, Md- An 11-year-old boy was honored Tuesday afternoon for an impressive act of bravery.
This comes after he saved his 2-year-old sister from a house fire back in November. Laprentis Doughty, quickly sprang into action back on November 22nd after the second floor of his home burst into flames.
Doughty was able to escape safely before realizing his sister was still upstairs. He then braved the blaze and went back into the home to save his sister. A heroic feat that the Watchmen from the first Baptist church of Salisbury were proud to recognize and honor.
47abc Spoke with one of their members Mr. Lewis N. Watson who told us they’re honoring Doughty with a 1-thousand-dollar check plus a college fund account for his future.
Laprentis’s mother Keishuana Banks was overjoyed with all the community support her family received and is so proud of her son.
