UMES Extension 4H STEM Festival set to return, exposing youth to world of science
PRINCESS ANNE, Md.- Are you the parent of a student interested in learning more about the world of science?
If so, University of Maryland Eastern Shore Extension’s 4H STEM Festival is making a return this weekend.
K-12 students will be exposed to everything from robotics to health and nutrition.
NASA Wallops flight facility, several UMES organizations, and more will be on site providing students with a first-hand look at many different careers.
Organizers tells us the goal is to get more youth interested in STEM-related fields to grow the pipeline of future professionals. “Getting those youth used to STEM and experiencing things they haven’t before. STEM is one of those things that’s in our lives no matter what. Whether it’s the science or technology, it’s always around us,” UMES Extension 4-H Stem Educator Brad Hartle said.
That event will be held this Saturday, November 12th from 10a.m.-2p.m.
It will be an inside event this year, located in UMES’ Engineering and Aviation Science Complex.
There’s no registration required.
