Small Business Administration to launch new certification program for veteran-owned small businesses
DELAWARE – More resources are coming to support veterans on a path to entrepreneurship, as the U.S Small Business Administration recently announced its new Veteran Small Business Certification Program.
The program will support both veteran and service-disabled veteran owned businesses.
The goal is to allow those business owners access to federal contracting dollars.
Delaware SBA officials tells us efforts like this are being made to provide equal opportunities to compete for what resources the federal government has available. “There’s requirements for the federal agencies to do so much of their procurement spend with service-disabled veteran owned small businesses,” Delaware SBA District Director Michelle Harris said.
“It’s free to look into, its free to go through the process to do it, and it’s really a big benefit to get in that federal contracting space and get access to that revenue.”
That program is set to start up January 2023.
