Racoon tests positive for rabies in Princess Anne, Health Department says
WESTOVER, Md. – The Somerset County Health Department says a rabid raccoon was recently found in the Princess Anne area.
We’re told the raccoon was found near Arden Station Road and Dublin Road and was sent to the MD State Laboratory for testing after biting a dog on Sunday, November 20th. The positive test results were received on Tuesday, November 22nd.
Health officials remind the public to take precautions to protect themselves and their family from possible exposure to rabies, and to report all animal bites or scratches to the Somerset County Health Department.
