Pocomoke rides second half explosion to regional title
POCOMOKE, Md. – The reigning 1A field hockey state champs are back in the state quarterfinals. Pocomoke’s five-goal second half outburst powered the Warriors to a second-consecutive regional title.
Dakota Trader and Aubrey Jackson-Bowen each scored twice for the Warriors. Marli McDorman scored the only goal of the first half, while Abbey East opened the second half with a tally for Pocomoke.
Pocomoke outshot Washington High, 22-4, and won the game, 6-0.
Kasey Hickman has led her Warriors to the state quarterfinals where they will be the 1-seed in her first season as head coach. The Warriors host Fallston at 6 PM on Friday with a trip to the state semifinals on the line.
