Late night fire destroys Rehoboth home
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – A Rehoboth Beach home was destroyed in a fire late Tuesday night.
Firefighters responded to a house fire on Marine Drive East in Angola by the Bay at around 11:40 p.m. Crews arrived on scene to find heavy fire in the back of a one-story house, including a large porch and storage unit.
All occupants were able to escape the burning home with their pets, except for two cats, who were found and safely rescued by firefighters.
Rehoboth Beach Fire and EMS personnel were assisted on scene by the Lewes Fire Department, Indian River Fire Company, and Sussex County EMS. After the fire was knocked down, units worked for over two hours putting out hot spots, including surrounding trees, leaves, and a neighbor’s shed.
There were no injuries reported.
