Goldsboro man arrested for assault

1280 Thomas Miller

GOLDSBORO, Md. – A Goldsboro man has been charged with assault following an incident Monday afternoon.

At around 12:15 p.m., deputies with the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office responded to 421 ain Street after it was reported that a tow truck driver had a shotgun pointed at him. The complaint stated that the man pointing the shotgun was threatening to shoot the driver if he did not release the vehicle he was attempting to repossess and leave the property. When the driver stated that he was calling the police, the suspect allegedly also made threats towards law enforcement.

Deputies tried to make contact with the suspect at the residence, who reportedly refused to speak with deputies and ordered them off his property. After all efforts to get the suspect to exit and surrender to police were exhausted, a Crisis Negotiation Team and Tactical Response Team was requested to respond. After hours of negotiation, the suspect, identified as Thomas Lee Miller Jr., surrendered to law enforcement and was taken into custody just before 4:30 p.m.

Miller was charged with first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, and other related charges.
