Warriors take down the Lions in a classic matchup

CENTREVILLE, Md.– Easton defeated Queen Anne’s in a final score of 28-26 on Friday night.

Easton would be the ones to strike first as Kevin O’Connor would run it up the middle for 6. Kj Smothers and the Lions would respond on the very next drive as Smothers would take it over 60 yards for the score. O’Connor would find Jordan Nixon on the slant for 14-7 lead.

O’Connor would find the end zone for his second rushing touchdown right before halftime to make it 21-7. QA would close the gap in the 3rd quarter with Smothers punching it in to make it 21-14. Smothers would not be denied in this matchup as he would score his 3rd rushing touchdown late in the 3rd to make it 21-20, QA would miss the extra point.

Easton would try to put the game away with another Kevin O’Connor rushing touchdown. Smothers would pick up his 4th rushing TD late in the 4th to make it 28-26, the Lions would fail to convert the 2 pt conversion.

With over 40 seconds left in the game, QA would run the clock out to 2 seconds left to set up the potential game winning field goal. Seth Blackwell would set up and the kick would far right as the field goal would be no good.
