Salisbury PFLAG hosts upcoming pride crosswalk repainting event, push to keep presence alive

 

SALISBURY, Md.- Salisbury PFLAG is looking for community members with an artistic eye to help give the pride crosswalk a fresh pop of color ahead of a repainting event this weekend.

The day will include live music, drag performances, and over 17 vendors.

The event also looks to highlight National Coming Out Day, which is celebrated on October 11th.

Executive Director Mark DeLancey tells 47ABC its important to keep the presence of the LGBTQ+ community alive and well and also help assists individuals taking that next step to become their authentic selves.

“It’s important not only for myself but everyone in the community to see that the community is vibrant, the community is here, and the community is alive,” DeLancey said.

“Each individual story is individual. Each story is unique. Each story is personal. Each story is touching. Each story is absolutely amazing,”

The event will be Saturday, October 8th at the crosswalk and starts at noon.
