Salisbury man, juveniles arrested for armed robbery

SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man and two teens were charged in connection to an armed robbery that took place over the weekend.

On Saturday, police met with a 14-year-old who reported that they had just been robbed at gunpoint of their cell phone in the area of Purnell Street and Jersey Road. The victim reported that the subject was armed with a black firearm equipped with a green laser.

Detectives developed a 13-year-old suspect who was later identified as the individual that committed the armed robbery. A search and seizure warrant was obtained for a residence in the 500 block of Purnell Street, which was executed on Monday. During the execution of the search warrant, a 15-year-old male reportedly tried to flee out the back window of the residence. The 15-year-old surrendered to law enforcement. The 13-year-old was not located inside the residence.

Inside the residence, police found an AR-style pistol loaded with six rounds. The weapon was found in the bedroom of the 13-year-old male, 15-year-old male, and 18-year-old Tavionn Palmer. The pistol had a green laser attached to it, matching the description of the firearm that was utilized during the armed robbery. All three subjects are prohibited from possessing firearms due to being under the age of 21, and Palmer is furthermore prohibited from possessing firearms due to previous criminal convictions.

Palmer was charged and originally held without bond. The 15-year-old male was charged on a juvenile referral for firearm related offenses and was detained by the Department of Juvenile Services at the Lower Eastern Shore Children’s Center.

It was learned that the 13-year-old was staying with a family member. The 13-year-old was brought into the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office with the stolen cell phone from the robbery. The teen was charged on a juvenile referral with armed robbery and other related firearm offenses. The teen was detained by the Department of Juvenile Services at the Lower Eastern Shore Children’s Center.
