Four arrested following drug distribution, prostitution investigation

SALISBURY, Md. – Four people have been charged following a drug and prostitution investigation in Salisbury.

The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation over the last several weeks involving a subject, identified as 38-year-old Vaughn Watson, distributing heroin/fentanyl and cocaine. It was determined that Watson was utilizing a residence in the 500 block of Bailey Lane in Salisbury to distribute his heroin/fentanyl and cocaine. It was also determined that 43-year-old Randy Chestnut and 39-year-old Alexandra Alterdon live at the residence and maintain the residence for the purposes of drug distribution, drug administration, and prostitution-related activity.

Last week, surveillance was established on Watson as he left his residence in Princess Anne and traveled to Salisbury. As Watson pulled into the residence in the 500 block of Bailey Lane, sheriff’s deputies executed the search warrant at the residence. Watson, Alderton, Chestnut, and an additional subject, 30-year-old Barry Thompson, were located and detained at the residence. Police located an amount of heroin/fentanyl and cocaine indicative of CDS distribution on Watson’s person. A search of the residence revealed a plethora of paraphernalia-related items indicative of CDS distribution and administration.

Through the investigation, it was learned that Watson uses the residence to distribute and administer drugs while the other occupants assist in the operation. Police determined through interviews that Alderton was using the residence for prostitution. Police say it was clear that the residence is a drug and prostitution house.

Police say Alderton and Thompson both had unrelated active warrants for their arrests. Thompson was served with the active warrant, charged with possession of heroin, and released to the Wicomico County Detention Center.

Alderton was charged with maintaining a common nuisance to distribute a narcotic, administer a narcotic, allowing prostitution at the residence, and related charges. She was held without bond.

Chestnut was charged with maintaining a common nuisance to distribute a narcotic, administer a narcotic, and related charges. He is being held without bond.

Watson was charged with possession with the intent to distribute heroin/fentanyl and related charges. He is being held without bond.
