Fire during burglary intentionally set, investigators say
POCOMOKE, Md. – An investigation is underway following an arson during a burglary in Pocomoke over the weekend.
At around 4:45 a.m. Saturday, the Pocomoke Police Department responded to a residence at 601 Young Street for a reported burglary. Officers arrived on scene to find that the rear of the structure was on fire and it was spreading quickly.
Firefighters with the Pocomoke Volunteer Fire Company, as well as firefighters from Stockton, Snow Hill, and New Church, Virginia, responded to the fire. The fire was extinguished quickly.
Worcester County Fire Marshals say the fire was intentionally set during the burglary.
