Dover man charged in connection to liquor store burglary

DOVER, Del. – A Dover man has been charged in connection to a liquor store burglary last week.

During the early morning hours of October 4th, a male suspect reportedly broke a glass window to the Happy 13 Liquor Store, located at 262 South DuPont Highway. While inside, the suspect stole tobacco products, alcohol, and an unknown amount of money.

Further investigation led detectives to identify the suspect as 36-year-old Brian Bowers. A warrant was obtained for his arrest, and at around 8 a.m. Friday, he was seen in the 100 block of South New Street and taken into custody.

Bowers was charged with third degree burglary, theft over $1500, and criminal mischief under $1000. He was later released on his own recognizance.
