Angel Tree program registrations opening, providing families in need with Christmas joy

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salvation Army of the Lower Eastern Shore is looking to help families in need with the return of its Angel Tree program.

The program provides clothing and toys for infants to children 14 years old in Worcester, Wicomico, and Somerset counties.

Individuals and local organizations are encouraged to adopt an angel to purchase items for.

Organizers tell us they expect anywhere between 400 to 500 families will need assistance and anticipate the need to be greater this year as families face historic levels of inflation. “And when you think about the hustle and bustle and the busyness of Christmas and the ways that you can get caught up in what’s going on in the world today, we just want to let people know that we are here to look beyond that and love beyond that. It means a lot to us to help others in that way,” Core Officer Cristina Trantham said.

Registration for the program starts Monday, October 17th and will last until Friday, October 21st.
