What to Know Before Delaware’s Primary Elections

DELAWARE – With Delaware’s primary elections next week, 47 ABC caught up with the Sussex’s County Director of Elections to find out what voters should expect when heading to the polls.
Director Bo Mcdowell predicts fewer lines as primaries historically only bring out about fifty percent of voters in addition sixty-six new polling locations will give voters many more options to cast a ballot.
Also with mail-in ballots and early voting, which ends this Sunday, September 11th, polls on September 13th should be fairly quick and streamlined.
Whether it’s in person, or by mail, time is ticking to have your voice heard. Speaking on mail-in ballots, McDowell said “We can’t mail anymore of those out {but} we can mail absentee ballots out until 4:30 tomorrow.”
If you do request an absentee ballot, they need to be dropped off at the Delaware Department of Elections Sussex County Office before 8 pm on election day. That address is 119 Race Street in Georgetown

McDowell also said to keep an eye on recent redistricting which may have changed polling locations, Which is important because on election day you must go to your designated polling place
