OC man sentenced for 2020 bank robbery

1280 Miller Jr

SNOW HILL, Md. – An Ocean City man will spend two decades behind bars after being convicted of armed robbery.

On October 27, 2020, Worcester County Sheriff’s deputies were called to respond to the Taylor Bank on Golf Course Road for a reported hold-up alarm. The scene was secured with assistance from Maryland State Police and Ocean City Police Department and the case was assigned to the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation. It was determined through the investigation that a male suspect had walked into the lobby and handed the bank teller a handwritten note in a plain white envelope that stated, “I have a gun put 7K in the envelope no marked bills”. The suspect then reportedly whispered to the teller, “time’s ticking”. The suspect then fled the scene before police arrived. Evidence collected at the scene, including surveillance video of the suspect and DNA evidence, led investigators to identify the suspect as 38-year-old Christopher Miller Jr., in March of 2021.

Miller was found guilty of armed robbery and related charges by a Worcester County jury back in April. He was sentenced to serve 20 years in the Division of Correction and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $5,190 to Calvin B. Taylor Bank. The judge credited Miller with 406 days of time served.
