Kj Smothers dominates with 5 TD’s in homecoming game

CENTREVILLE, Md.– Queen Anne’s defeated Parkside in a final score of 38-26 on Saturday afternoon.

Parkside would get on the board first to take the 6-0 lead, however they would miss the extra point. QA responds right back as Kj Smothers would drive it up the middle for the TD to give the Lions the 7-6 lead.

The Rams would stay in the lead after a flea flicker by the offense, Luke Maciarello pitched it to Canaan Mapp who then passed it to a wide open Aidan Brinsfield for the score. Parkside would strike right before halftime as Nasir Holden would fight through traffic and slip tackles to break free for a huge touchdown run.

QA would keep the Rams scoreless in the 3rd quarter. The Lions would come out hot as Kj Smothers slammed it in for 6 more to bring the Lions within 6. They would get stuffed in the redzone with 1:15 left in the 3rd and would have to settle for a field goal to make it a 20-17 game.

With 11:19 left in the game, Bryant Waters for Parkside would explode through the Lions defense as he would take it all the way to the house for 6 to give his Rams the 26-17 lead. On the very next drive the Lions would strike as Kj Smothers would strike again to make it a 2 point game.

6:44 left in the game and Lions were knocking on the door, Kj Smothers would punch it in for his 4th rushing touchdown of the game to give the Lions their first lead of the game. Smothers would tack on another TD late in the game to give his Lions a nice 38-26 lead to secure their homecoming game win.
