Friends of 14-year-old Gavin Knupp are holding memorial service Saturday for teen killed in hit-and-run
BERLIN, Md.- After a 14-year-old was killed during a hit and run in Berlin, friends of the teen are coming together to honor his life by holding a memorial event.
Ocean Pines teen, Gavin Knupp, was killed near Grays Corner Road. After the accident, community members have been hosting events to remember him.
“Gavin was his own person for sure, he was super funny and if you were having a down day I mean that was the person you want to hang out with,” Brody Grunewald, Gavin’s friend, said.
Saturday at 5 p.m. Gavin’s friends will be making a surfboard addition to Gavin’s memorial where people can come to sign. Those behind the effort are asking for the entire community to join them in remembering and honoring Gavin.
“We just don’t want the community to forget what happened to Gavin and in the future hopefully justice will be served,” Steven Grunewald, Brody’s Dad, said.
In addition to this event, all Labor Day Weekend “Get Baked Food Trolley” will be at Windmill Creek Vineyard and Winery at 4 p.m. where they will be matching tips to support the family.
