Delaware Auditor of Accounts violates FOIA request
Delaware- On September 23rd Chief Deputy Attorney General of Delaware Alexander Mackler informed a petitioner that the Delaware state Auditor of Accounts office had violated a Freedom of Information Act request.
According to the Attorney General’s office, on July 29th a request was submitted in requesting information from 2018 to the present day at the time of the request.
On August 25th an additional motion was filed to the attorney general’s office requesting that they determine if the auditor of accounts office had violated the FOIA request by failing to respond to it.
The same day the office requested that the Auditor of Accounts office provide a response to the allegations by September 2nd.
The Auditor’s office did not respond by the 2nd, and on September 6th they were contacted again and given an additional two days to respond.
By September 8th they did not respond and did not do so any time after that date.
In conclusion the Attorney General’s office found that the Auditor’s office had violated the FOIA request by simply not responding to it.
