Crash claims life of motorcyclist in OC
OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Ocean City Police Department is investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle that occurred Wednesday evening.
At around 5:15 p.m., officers responded to a reported vehicle crash in the area of 100th Street and northbound Coastal Highway. The victim, identified as 32-year-old Nicholas Ramirez, was flown by Trooper 4 to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional, where he died as a result of his injuries.
Officers tried to initiate a traffic stop on a motorcycle in the area of 67th Street, but the motorcycle fled, and officers decided to not pursue the motorcycle. The officer provided a detailed description of the motorcyclist and motorcycle to fellow officers, and a short time later, Ocean City Communications dispatched officers to the crash at 100th Street. Ramirez was identified as the motorcyclist that had fled from officers.
The crash remains under investigation.
