Cambridge wins on miraculous last-second touchdown
SALISBURY, Md. – Cambridge-South Dorchester played to the last second, and it paid off with a miracle touchdown as time expired, defeating Bennett 18-15.
Bennett controlled possession of the ball while holding a 3-point lead, but fumbled the ball away in the final minute.
With just four second remaining in the game, and the ball at the 12-yard line Cambridge called a quarterback rollout. Talan Middleton launched the ball in the air for Darren Belizaire who tracked it down and came down with the game-winning catch as time expired.
The win capped off a come-from-behind victory for the Vikings who trailed by a 15-0 score at halftime.
Belizaire was apart of all three Viking touchdowns, with two receiving and one passing.
Cambridge (2-1) will play Kent Island at home Friday. Bennett (0-3) will travel to take on North Caroline on Friday.
