West Men Society to host 7th annual concert tribute, supports local youth
SALISBURY, Md. – The West Men Society is encouraging all to come out to their 7th annual concert tribute.
Since 2011, the non-profit has been focused on empowering youth in the community.
The day will include live music, a backpack and school supplies giveaway, and even a slam dunk contest for a cash prize.
Outside of the fun, there will also be a talent contest and the opportunity for kids to be exposed to musical instruments.
Organizers tell 47ABC, they’re looking forward to being a helping hand for both the community and youth in this way. “All of the members of the organization have been through something and we’re trying to encourage the young people to not make the same mistakes that we did and we also try to help those in need in the community,” West Men Society President Eddie Morris said.
“So we’re here to encourage, empower, and build strong relationships with our young people,” Vice President/Treasurer Broderick Nutter said.
The event will be held Saturday, August 20th at the Lake Street Playground in Salisbury from 11 a.m.- 9 p.m.
