Weather Tidbits: Air Quality Index Scale
The air quality index scale is explored in this Weather Tidbits. The air quality index provides daily air pollution concentrations; which was developed by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). The AQI is color-coded, with scales related to potential health concerns. Good is represented by green means little to no risk. Moderate in yellow indicates a small number of unusually sensitive people may have a few health concerns. A code orange means unhealthy for some; which are people with heart and lung disease, older adults and children should limit outdoor activities. Unhealthy is shown in red; where everyone should limit outdoor activities and unusually sensitive people should remain indoors. Very unhealthy in pink means everyone should remain indoors as much as possible.
