U.S. Senator Carper reacts to Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 moving ahead
DELMARVA- 47ABC spoke with U.S. Senator Tom Carper to get his reaction on the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 passing the Senate.
He said he’s thrilled to see this push forward, especially because it will help address climate change issues like reducing methane emissions.Getting these things under control is important to Senator Carper as he says we’ve seen challenges like this impact Delmarva and our beach areas.
Now with the passage of this act, Senator Carper adds he’s hopeful to see changes. “So, the question is can we address all of these things? Can we address them in a way that actually doesn’t create more inflation, actually reduces inflation? Can we address the thread of climate change in ways that reduce our budget deficit and economists a lot smarter than me have contended by the score that this legislation fights inflation,” Sen. Carper said.
He also said he hopes that the House of Representatives will pass the bill as well.
