Study showing more students changing their college educational plans due to COVID-19

DELMARVA- A recent study is showing nationwide that more and more students are deciding not to go back to school or college due to COVID-19.

A Senior Research Analyst with QuoteWizard said they looked at U.S. Census Data particularly from June and July on how people were changing their educational plans. We’re told they found a nearly 30% of potential students canceled all classes, 36% of students are now taking online classes, and 9% changed schools.

“What we are seeing in some of the smaller, less populous, more rural states is that students aren’t able to transition to an online learning platform as easily as they could in other states, and I think that ultimately is why we’re seeing students, more students in those kind of smaller states cancel college all together,” Nick VinZant, Senior Research Analyst with QuoteWizard, said.

We are told Delaware is one of the states that has the highest numbers of students who canceled college over COVID-19 concerns. That number is 47%. Meanwhile, in Maryland that percent is 24%.
