REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control has issued a recreational water advisory for a portion of Rehoboth Beach.
We’re told the advisory is in effect for the stretch of beach from Pennsylvania Avenue to Stockley Street and is due to high enterococcus levels. Swimmers should be aware of the possible presence of potentially harmful bacteria in the water.
Officials say the bacteria most likely originate from wildlife sources, but recent rainfall and resulting stormwater could also be factors.
