Local Non Profit Helps In Smith Island Recovery Efforts

GRASONVILLE, Md- After a Tornado devastated Smith Island last week one local nonprofit stepped up to help aid in the recovery efforts.

First Light for First Responders is an organization based out of Grasonville but travels all over the nation helping out first responders and their families following events like the tornado that tore through smith island.

47 Spoke with the founder, Justin Davis to find out what they donated to the island and what is still needed.

Davis Said, ” It was mainly toiletries, personal showers, water, food supplies, new clothing, blankets, pillows. Pretty much anything but we always try to get new or very gently used items

Davis also said he is currently working with the fire officials on Smith Island to gather a list of specific items as they are graciously overwhelmed with supplies and they don’t want anything to go to waste  but some resources are still needed.
