Henlopen Football Preview: Lake Forest Spartans

FELTON, Del — The Lake Forest Spartans are seeking a more successful season than last year. They finished the year 5-5 and missed the playoffs after starting the season 4-1.

The Spartans lost by less than 10 points twice during that second-half four-game losing streak.

Spartans Head Coach Fred Johnson says last year‘s team didn’t close games well and made costly mistakes that ended their season without a playoff appearance.

The Spartans return 9 out of 11 of last year’s starters on defense and 8 guys back on offense from last season.

Players to watch out for on the offense include All District Junior QB Jonathan Tyndall, Senior Wideout Johnson Oakley, and Senior Running Backs Jamir Marable, Kai Rivera, and Calif Spencer.

With all the returning depth, Coach Johnson expects the team to be experienced enough to finish out games better than last year.
