Grand Jury indicts Salisbury man on 13 drug, prostitution offenses
SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man has been indicted by a Grand Jury following an investigation into drug and prostitution activity.
Police say that over the past couple of years they have continually received complaints about drug activity in the 1500 block of Woodridge Drive. Through investigation, it was determined that 51-year-old Kevin Beeman has been maintaining a common nuisance at the residence for controlled dangerous substance and prostitution activity.
Last month, the Salisbury City Police Department served a search and seizure warrant at the residence, where Beeman was located inside. During the search, a large amount of paraphernalia indicative of controlled dangerous substance usage and distribution was found. Additionally, detectives conducted extensive surveillance on the residence prior to the search warrant execution, which revealed CDS activity. Police say a telephone belonging to Beeman was seized from the residence, and a search and seizure warrant was authorized and served.
As a result, it was revealed that Beeman was maintaining a common nuisance for the purpose of distribution/administration of narcotics and prostitution. He was originally arrested, charged with CDS-related offenses, and later released on his own recognizance.
On Monday, August 22nd, the facts of this case were presented to the Wicomico County Grand Jury, who returned an indictment for 13 criminal offenses. On Thursday, Beeman was arrested on the open indictment and taken to the Wicomico County Detention Center.
