Weather Tidbits: Rainbow Ingredients

This Weather Tidbits explains the four ingredients of how a rainbow forms. First, the viewer must be between the sun and the rain; followed by it must be within a few hours of sunrise or sunset with an angle less than 42°.  Third. the rainbow will appear at the point opposite of the sun; which means in the evening it will be in the east while in the morning it will be towards the west. Lastly, larger raindrops often create brighter bands for the rainbow.
