Ward Museum closure extended, officials urge community support

SALISBURY, Md. – The Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art is extending its temporary closure due to environmental concerns.

The museum experienced a failure in with its HVAC system, forcing them to close it’s galleries.

This was the result of all the humidity Delmarva has been experiencing, which officials say can potentially cause mold on artwork made of wood.

As a precaution, we’re told an intense cleaning process is now underway.

Museum officials say as they face these difficult times they need the support of the community now more than ever. “Whether that’s just becoming a member here at the museum or a donation of any amount could go a long way to help us throughout this process,” Communications Director Eric Stewart said.

Museum officials tell us they aren’t sure how long the closure will be but they’re still running their educational programming and outside activities as normal.

As of now, we’re told the HVAC has been repaired.
