Surfs Up: A new surfing competition is rolling into Ocean City July 23

OCEAN CITY, Md.- If you’re looking for something fun to do this Saturday, you can go check out a surf competition in Ocean City. The Red Bull Foam Wreckers are putting on the soft board surfing classic on 39th street.

This is their first time holding the event in the resort town. We’re told the competition aims to bring surfers of all skill levels out to have fun in the water with minimal rules, while only using soft-boards.

“We wanted to create something for maybe the weekend warrior or just the everyday person who surfs after work,” Ben Gravy, semi-professional surfer said. “So, we just really wanted to make something that had a really fun environment and was very inclusive.”

We’re told you don’t even have to bring your own soft boards, they will be provided for you. The competition begins at 9 a.m. To learn more about how to sign up, click here.
